Review: Macau Grand Prix 2011 DVD

Macau Grand Prix 2011 DVDThe Macau Grand Prix is renowned as the most historic race meeting in Asia; a spectacular international street race where both car and motorcycle racing takes place, the 3.8 mile circuit is bounded by crash barriers and leaves very little room for error.

Every year racers turn up en masse to fight for Macau glory, and last year was no different as the Macau Grand Prix attracted hundreds of competitors and produced spectacular races in both the two- and four-wheel categories, which you can relive by watching the Macau Grand Prix 2011 DVD.

With almost 100 minutes of track action, this official Macau GP review provides a comprehensive look back at the rain-affected motorcycle race and the incident-packed Formula 3 thriller which saw many an audacious manoeuvre, and plenty of wrecked cars.

All ten laps of the Motorcycle Grand Prix are covered, so we get to see Michael Rutter chasing a record-breaking seventh Macau GP win and the return of Ian Hutchinson having overcome his career-threatening injury. A bit of damp and walls just inches away, the on-bike footage certainly produces plenty of bottom-clenching moments!

Formula 3 fans will also be in their element as there’s plenty of interviews and action from both the ten-lap qualification race and the 15-lap Grand Prix as the rising stars of single-seater racing do wheel-to-wheel battle in a bid to add a revered Macau win to their resumes.

Absent from this highlights package is any WTCC action – presumably due to rights issues – and therefore, the Macau Grand Prix 2011 DVD just misses out on being a must-buy title. There’s no denying what is included is visceral a treat, but a bit of tin-top racing would certainly have been the icing on an already scrumptious cake.
